Farewell to Declan Ganly

September 1, 2024 General

On 30 August, the Chaplaincy team said farewell to the Administrator, Declan Ganley.

Our CEO Marie Norbury offers these words:
If I may, I'd like to take this opportunity to say a very big thank you to Declan for his many years of dedicated support for the Irish Chaplaincy. As you know better than I, Declan has been instrumental in so many of our work practices and systems - so much so, I suspect you may be wondering how we will manage..! Fear not, over the past few weeks Declan has been working tirelessly to enable the best possible handover and was continuing to implement new system changes right up until yesterday. His legacy will live on!
On a personal level, I'd like to thank Declan for helping me to find my way around the Irish Chaplaincy over these past four months, supporting with matters various & always responding with flexibility and humour.

Thank you, Declan. We wish you the very best of luck and every happiness for the future.

Declan reflected: It is sad to say goodbye after 14 years but every journey begins with one step. May you enjoy every journey knowing that it is fairly certain you will find your way home. I will see you all somewhere, sometime. Thank you for everything. Slán agus beannacht.
If you find a spare moment, watch blessings - from a friend who I once had the pleasure of meeting and drinking whisky with in my home town before he sadly died John O'Donoghue
